QuadcopterGarage.com is a blog started by drone enthusiasts. It was initially just a place for us to post occasionally about our various projects and builds and write reviews of products we bought. Over time, we started getting a lot of emails from people who were frustrated by the lack of easily digestible information for beginners who want to build a quadcopter or other multirotor aircraft. We could sympathize because when we first got into this hobby, it took us months of research, reading forums, browsing parts suppliers’ shady websites, and generally trying to figure out where to start. It was a very frustrating experience.
As we spent more time in places like the multirotor forums on RCGroups and the /r/multicopter subreddit, we saw that there are constantly newcomers to the multirotor hobby trying to sort out their parts list and figure out what to buy. After fielding numerous emails from people in situations like this, we decided to focus on being a solid, reliable source of information and advice. We post detailed build logs, how-to articles and status updates about all of our projects, successes, and failures in hopes that others can learn from us. There is a lot of good information out there, and a lot of people with a lot of knowledge and experience to share, but it can be difficult to sift through, especially for those who are new to multirotors. Hopefully our site will be a good starting point for people interested in building their own quadcopter or other type of UAV.
